This course is designed to introduce students to the concept of entrepreneurship and business development. How do you turn an idea into a business? Experience this process in the Business and Entrepreneurship Course. Entrepreneurship focuses on recognizing a business opportunity, starting a business, and operating and maintaining a business. The focus of this course will provide students with skills needed to understand how to organize, develop, and manage a business.

Students will be exposed to the development of critical thinking, problem solving, and innovation skills in this course as they function as the business owner or management team working in a competitive market in the future. Students will also gain an understanding of entrepreneurship and learn about the impact a business has on the economy. We will examine and develop the personal traits and fundamental principles required to become a successful entrepreneur and will be exposed to the first steps of the entrepreneurial process. This includes but is not limited to the entire development of a business plan, branding a business, marketing strategies and much more.

Various forms of technology along with business-owner guest speakers throughout the semester will be used to expose students to information, resources, and the application of business principles for starting, operating, and maintaining a business. Professional communication skills and practices, problem-solving, ethical, and legal issues, and the impact of effective presentation skills are all included in this course to prepare students to be college and career ready. Employability skills are integrated into activities, tasks, and projects throughout the course to teach the skills required in today’s marketplace.

Tuition:

$80 supply and administration/facility fee per student per semester.

First semester: $425 

Second Semester: $475
