Literature for Middle School
Students will dive into rich and relevant literature while learning how authors use literary terms and devices to make their writing come to life. We will read a variety of literature including novels, short stories, and poetry. Students will be taught how to craft a literary response in clear and guided steps and how to lead and participate in a group discussion. Throughout the year students will work in self-selected literature circles where choice and responsibility are emphasized. This class pairs beautifully with the Grammar and Composition classes for middle school students to create a complete language arts block. We will be able to complete this class online, if needed through Google Classroom and Zoom. Students should expect to spend 4 hours a week on homework. Students who took this class in 2019 - 2020 can take this class again as it is new curriculum and a new format. Tuition: $285 a semester or $550 a year. Materials fee: $30 |
